SEED Welcomes Mickie Hoover by Seed Architecture

SEED is pleased to announce the addition of Mickie Hoover to our design team!

“An interior designer with broad experience in commercial, educational, industrial and residential projects, Mickie will be a great asset to SEED, which has seen significant growth,” said  Architect John K. Powell, who founded the firm in 2015. SEED Architecture currently has a number of technical interior design projects in the retail, restaurant and healthcare sectors, Powell added.

Hoover and SEED Interior Designer Laura Burns will take on more of the project management and interior layout work augmenting the exterior architecture that the firm does, Powell said.

“I’m thrilled to join the talented SEED team with John and Laura. I look forward to not only lending my expertise but also continuing to grow as a designer for years to come,” Hoover said.

A native of Columbia, Hoover holds an undergraduate degree in interior design and an MBA, both from Anderson University, in Anderson, S.C. Prior to joining SEED, she worked as a lead  interior designer for ID.ology Interiors and Design in Asheville, N.C.,  and prior to that was an interior designer for Design South Professionals in Anderson.

While at ID.ology, Hoover earned the Certified-Aging-in-Place Specialist certification from the National Association of Home Builders.  The CAPS certification provides insight and focus into a number of design issues beyond aging, Hoover noted.  Powell believes that the CAPS certification will be an asset as SEED does more and more medical office and related design work.  “Mickie brings a keen perspective to the needs of people that complements the work we already do,” Powell said.
