Unity Church
Location: Lexington, SC
Scope: Sanctuary - 9,500 SF Edu Building - 4624 SF
The Unity Church project consists of the design and construction of a new-build church campus that will serve as a spiritual, educational, and community-focused environment. The final campus is composed of three primary structures: a Sanctuary Building, a Classroom Building, and an Auxiliary Building, all thoughtfully planned to function cohesively while allowing flexibility for future growth. The project is to be done in phases with the Sanctuary Building being the first.
The Sanctuary Building serves as the heart of the campus, providing a welcoming and inspiring space for worship services, ceremonies, and large gatherings. The design emphasizes openness, acoustical performance, natural light, and a strong sense of reverence, while incorporating modern building systems and accessibility throughout.
The Classroom Building supports the church’s choir program, youth programs, and community learning. It includes multiple classrooms of varying sizes, offices, and a choir practice space designed to accommodate children, students, and adult education programs in a safe and engaging environment.
The Auxiliary Building provides essential support functions for the campus. This building enhances daily operations and allows the church to host community events, outreach programs, and administrative activities.
Together, the three buildings create a cohesive campus that balances worship, education, and community engagement, while prioritizing durability, accessibility, and long-term functionality.
